The Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO) is pleased to host the 2024 Regional MSK Master Class, 4-5 October at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. This intensive program will feature a mix of didactic lectures and hands-on learning, led by course directors Jack Jennings, MD, PhD, FSIR, Sean M. Tutton, MD, FSIR, FCIRSE, and Marwan Moussa, MD.

Learning Outcomes

  • Discuss high-risk fracture patterns, advantages of mechanical augmentation, new implants in spine augmentation, and potential complications and mitigation strategies of MSK interventions.
  • Discuss indications for radiofrequency ablation in the spine, indications for cryoablation in the spine, thermoprotective techniques of spine ablation.
  • Discuss common indications for percutaneous biopsy, different ablation techniques relevant to the bones and soft tissues, adjunctive block and neurolysis techniques.
  • Discuss indications and technical considerations for mechanical and traditional augmentation vs. vertebroplasty in the spine, and complications associated with all augmentation techniques.
  • Apply knowledge gained in hands-on lab setting.
