The RISE Forum is a comprehensive, expert-led program designed to equip interventional oncologists, scientists, and clinical investigators with the tools and knowledge to advance impactful research across the translational spectrum. From foundational laboratory platforms to clinical trial design and next-generation innovations, this immersive course spans the critical elements necessary for driving discovery and accelerating clinical progress in interventional oncology.
SIO aims to advance the levels of evidence in interventional oncology (IO), supporting access to preclinical and clinical research efforts with this six-hour program, hosted on Wednesday, 4 February 2026. This innovative research forum will be the first of its kind to be organized by a major radiology society. Structured into thematic sections — Preclinical Foundations, Clinical Trial Design, and Emerging Technologies — this course will emphasize practical learning through expert lectures, roundtable discussions, and debate-style learning. Participants will explore how to select and apply relevant models, design robust clinical studies with meaningful endpoints, and critically analyze both successful and failed trials to inform future efforts. The course also highlights innovative frontiers including theranostics, biologic delivery systems, and machine learning integration.
Attendees can expect a comprehensive half-day course presented by leading interventional oncology researchers, where they will engage with translational research models, adopt strategies for bridging the preclinical-clinical divide, and explore considerations for IO-specific trial designs.
