NCCN Adult Cancer Pain Guidelines

The Society of Interventional Oncology submitted updates to the NCCN adult cancer pain guidelines. Submitted by Jack Jennings, MD, PhD, Associate Professor, Washington University, Anil N. Kurup, MD, Radiologist, Mayo Clinic and Majid Maybody, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. NCCN Breast Cancer Guidelines

The Society of Interventional Oncology submitted updates to the NCCN breast cancer guidelines. Submitted by Amy Deipolyi, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Radiology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Gary A. Ulaner, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiology, Molecular Imaging and Therapy Service, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This letter recommends PET/CT to monitor disease progression rather than specifying it as optional and including embolotherapies for treatment of refractory hepatic metastasis. NCCN Kidney Cancer Guidelines

Atwell MD, Professor of Radiology, Mayo Clinic, and S. William Stavropoulos MD, Professor of Radiology, University of Pennsylvania. This letter requests the NCCN panel review two specific changes to include LRT therapies for patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer and metastatic pancreatic cancer.

This Letter requests the NCCN Palliative Care Guidelines panel review the recommendation for Interventional Radiologist (IR) on the panel in addition to a recommendation to include image-guided ablation and cementoplasty as considerations to palliate painful bone metastases.
