The Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO) is seeking a passionate leader to serve on the Board of Directors. All SIO members in good standing are eligible to run for the Board of Directors with terms beginning June 2019 for the open position:

Call for Committee Candidates!

SIO is looking for individuals who are interested in helping us achieve our mission of advancing Interventional Oncology as the fourth pillar of cancer therapy alongside medical, surgical and radiation oncology worldwide.This year we are looking for motivated individuals to get involved in the following areas:

SIO Research Committee 

The SIO Research Committee is responsible for collaborating with the Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on existing and future SIO research priorities including research grants and registries.

  • Committee members serve a 1-year term and are eligible for reappointment for up to two additional terms (up to three years of total service). 
  • Commitments include monthly conference calls as noted by the chair. Additional requirements will be determined based on the scope of the work.

SIO Publications Committee

The SIO Publications Committee is responsible for collaborating with committees, membership, Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on existing and future SIO publications including Clinic Notes, Case of the Week, and IO Insights.

  • Committee members serve a 1-year term and are eligible for reappointment for up to two additional terms (up to three years of total service). 
  • Commitments include monthly conference calls as noted by the chair. Additional requirements will be determined based on the scope of the work.

SIO Membership Committee

The SIO Membership Committee is responsible for collaborating with committees, membership, Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement and retention.

  • Committee members serve a 1-year term and are eligible for reappointment for up to two additional terms (up to three years of total service). 
  • Commitments include monthly conference calls as noted by the chair. Additional requirements will be determined based on the scope of the work.

SIO Education Committee

The SIO Education Committee is responsible for collaborating with committees, membership, the Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on existing and future SIO educational priorities including IO University.

  • Committee members serve a 1-year term and are eligible for reappointment for up to two additional terms (up to three years of total service). 
  • Commitments include monthly conference calls as noted by the chair. Additional requirements will be determined based on the scope of the work.

    SIO International Engagement Committee

    The International Engagement committee is responsible for collaborating with committees, membership, the Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on and expand SIO’s international presence.

    • Committee members serve a 1-year term and are eligible for reappointment for up to two additional terms (up to three years of total service). 
    • Commitments include monthly conference calls as noted by the chair. Additional requirements will be determined based on the scope of the work.

      

    All interested applicants must meet the following requirements to serve on any of SIO's committees: 

    1. SIO member in good standing
    2. Express desire to serve with special interest in research
    3. Must be able to carry out the work of the committee
    4. Desire to advance the mission of SIO
    5. Ability to work well with others
    6. Ability to make the necessary time commitment
    7. Ability to attend and actively participate in conference calls
