SIO 2019: Abstract Submission
8 - 11 June 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts
Abstract submission window has closed and all notifications have been emailed to the submitter.
Share your research with more than 700 professionals in the global IO community and gain recognition from your peers. There are no restrictions on the number of abstracts you may submit or on the number of submissions you may present. Additionally, SIO does not have a policy that limits prior presentation of data. SIO does not accept trials in progress or case reports.
All accepted abstracts will be featured on SIO-Central and recognized in the SIO 2019 conference app. The top peer-reviewed abstract will be selected to present during a SIO 2019 plenary session. All abstracts will be eligible for Best Abstract awards in Boston.
ORAL ABSTRACT INFORMATION
All oral presenters will have ten minutes for complete presentation. This includes seven minutes for presentation and three minutes for audience questions. PowerPoint presentations should be created using the 16:9 aspect ratio.
Poster presenters are required to upload an electronic copy of their poster to their Poster Harvester account. Poster presenters may reserve a printed poster spot, however, space is limited. The deadline to request your printed poster spot is 6 May 2019. Poster stations will be available within the exhibit hall for attendees to browse the accepted poster abstracts. Posters are also available online and in our mobile app.
SIO will be hosting a Poster Presentation Reception on Monday, 10 June 2019 from 6:00-7:00 PM. You are required to attend the reception to answer questions from fellow attendees.
If you have requested a printed poster and received emailed confirmation of a space, you are still required to upload an electronic poster. Your printed poster should must be able to fit in the allotted space of 4 feet tall by 8 feet wide (1.22m x 2.44m/landscape).
For more information, download the e-Poster Guide.
On rare occasions, presenters scheduled to present their poster fail to show up and have not notified SIO of the change in plans. When presenters do not appear to present their poster, the planning efforts of the Scientific Chair and Program Committee in providing a quality program are diminished significantly, there are significant cost implications, and the audience is unnecessarily disappointed with empty poster boards. Staff will audit all posters for no shows and this may result in ineligibility for future SIO meetings.
Acceptance of the abstract by the review committee obligates the author to be present. If circumstances prevent attendance, the author must arrange for the poster to be presented by a substitute, preferably a co-author. If you wish to withdraw your abstract, you must submit your request in writing by Tuesday, 30 April 2019 to email@example.com including the abstract title and first author. Failure to comply may result in ineligibility for future SIO meetings abstract submissions as first author.
For questions regarding the abstract process, you may contact SIO via email or by phone 202-367-1164.
