To the SIO Community,

On behalf of the SIO Board of Directors and staff, I hope this note finds you in good health and good spirits.

I write to you all today to share that SIO is committed to holding a safe, enjoyable Annual Scientific Meeting in San Francisco, 3-7 February 2022.

However, we recognize the continued apprehension that you may feel about attending an in-person gathering, as well as the difficulties that traveling internationally may pose. Because of this, SIO will be moving forward with a hybrid meeting format for SIO2022, allowing for both virtual and in-person programming.

SIO will adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines onsite, and will share additional information in the coming months.

Registration will open during IO Awareness Week, the week of 25 October. We hope you will consider joining us in San Francisco. In the meantime, you can still submit a scientific abstract or apply for an IO Essentials scholarship

Thank you for your continued support, and for your patience and flexibility as we plan to reconvene. Although the pandemic is not fully behind us, we are excited to take an important step forward to come together, learn, and network—and drive the field of IO forward.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the SIO team at info@sio-central.org.
